Web modules, also referred to as web parts, let you dictate not only what information appears in your website or Web application, but where on the page it should appear.
e-Business provides you with extensive list of web modules. These .NET based modules allow you to offer specific functionality for your clients, based on their particular needs. The Web administrator is responsible for installing, or loading, the desired web modules into your organization’s instance of e-Business. You can then install a web module onto an existing page (or new webpage) and then configure its behavior and appearance using the settings, or controls, for that particular web module.
You will notice in the “Module” drop-down of the Control Panel, that some of the modules have a “Personify -” prefix. This signifies that the module was created by Personify developer’s and is controlled and/or calls upon data from your back office database. Any module that does not have the “Personify -” prefix does not call upon the back office data to perform its function.
When setting up your Host and/or Admin accounts please refer to the DotNetNuke help for any information regarding their modules. All module information is covered later in this section.
The following DNN modules are being de-supported as of 7.5.0, as they have been replaced by new .NET controls. Personify will evaluate the new .NET controls as they relate to their customers’ needs, and consider using them appropriately, to ease the eventual migration once we de-support the DNN controls with 7.5.0. These include:
· Online Store, Product Listing, and Advanced Product Marketing – 7.4.0 SP1 or higher
