Advertising System Types and Codes

The following table describes the system types and codes for the Advertising (ADV) subsystem. Please note that non-fixed system types and codes should be setup prior to using the ADV subsystem.

AD_CATEGORY

The classification of the advertisement. For example, Educational Ad, Informational Ad, or Product Ad.

 

The Category field displays Maintain Ad Classifications screen.

ADVERTISEMENT_STATUS

N

The status of the advertisement within the process. For example, with the Advertiser, Artist, or Printer.

 

The Advertisement Status field displays on the Maintain Production Information screen.

ADVERTISEMENT_TYPE

Y

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Internet

·       Print Classified

·       Print Display

You can create your own user-defined codes from the Ad Type Definition (ADV005a) screen.

The Advertisement Type field displays on the Ad Creative screen.

ADVERTISER_CLASS

N

The class of the advertiser. For example, Advertiser, Association, or Prospect.

 

The Advertiser Class field displays on the Advertiser Maintenance screen.

ADVERTISER_STATUS

N

The status of the advertiser. For example, Active, Duplicate, or Inactive.

 

The Advertiser Status field displays on the Advertiser Maintenance screen.

AGENCY_CLASS

N

The class of the agency. For example, Agency or Association.

 

The Agency Class field displays on the Agency Maintenance screen.

AGENCY_STATUS

N

The status of the agency. For example, Active, Duplicate, or Inactive.

 

The Agency Status field displays on the Agency Maintenance screen.

APPLICATION_TYPE

N

The type of application for a print display advertisement. For example, Photo Shop, HTML, Microsoft Word, or Adobe Acrobat.

 

The Application Type field displays on the Ad Creative screen.

CANCEL_FEE_BASIS

Y

Indicates the date from which cancellation fee schedules will be determined.

 

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Ad Issue Date

·       Web Ad Start Date

 

The Cancel Fee Basis Code field displays on the Product Cancel Fee Schedule screen.

CANCEL_FEE_BASIS_UNIT

Y

Indicates the unit of time to be used to evaluate whether a cancellation should incur cancellation fees.

 

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Day

·       Month

 

The Basis Unit field displays on the Product Cancel Fee Schedule screen.

CLASSIFIED_AD_SALE_UNIT

Y

The unit of measure used for the classified advertisement.

 

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Line

·       Column_Inch

·       Column_Half_Inch

 

The Classified Ad Sales Unit field displays on the Advertising Media Maintenance screen.

COLOR_KEY

N

The color key that should be used for the advertisement in production. For example, Match Color or Pantone.

 

The Color Key field displays on the Ad Creative screen.

COMMISSION_METHOD

Y

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Gross

·       Net

 

The Commission Method field displays on the Commissions screen in Organizational Unit Maintenance.

COMMISSION_TYPE

Y

The following code is delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Sales Rep Commission

 

The Commission Type field displays on the Sales Rep and Commissions for Orders screen.

COMPETITOR_JOURNAL

N

The names of competing journals. For example, ABC Magazine.

CONTACT_TYPE

N

The type of contact for the advertising contract. For example, Graphics Artist, Printer, or Programmer.

 

The Contact Type field is located on the Maintain Contract Contacts screen.

CONTRACT_CLASS

N

The class of the contract. For example, Affiliate Contract, Commercial Contract, or Print Contract.

 

The Contract Class field is located on the Advertising Contracts screen.

CONTRACT_STATUS

N

The status of the contract. For example, Active, Cancelled, or Closed.

 

The Contract Status field is located on the Advertising Contracts screen.

CONTRACT_STATUS_REASON

N

The reason the status of the contract would change. For example, Dissatisfied or Merger.

 

The Status Reason field is located on the Advertising Contracts screen.

CUSRELATION

N

The advertising relationship classification. For example, Author, Product Manager, or Vendor.

The Option 1 field is used to create a product relationship between the product and the constituent. Enter "CUS001I-APPEARANCE" in this field in order for the code to be an option from the Relationship Type drop-down on the Related Customers screen.

FILE_TYPE

N

The type of related file for the ad creative. For example, Bitmap Image, Brochure, or HTML file.

 

The File Type field is located on the Ad Creative screen.

FREQUENCY_RULE

Y

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Enforce

·       Exempt

 

The Frequency Rule field displays on the Contract Information tab on the Advertising Contracts screen.

FREQUENCY_STATUS

N

The status of the frequency commitment and fulfillment of the advertising contract. For example, Cancelled, Even, Over, or Short.

 

The Frequency Status field displays on the Contract Information tab on the Advertising Contracts screen.

FULFILL_STATUS

Y

The status of the product within the order (invoiced or not fulfilled). 

 

The Fulfill Status field is located on the Line Item Details screen.

INVOICE_RULE

Y

When an advertising order is activated, the system must evaluate the invoice rule to determine whether the order line should be invoiced.

 

The following code are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Available Date

·       Custom

·       Fulfill Date

·       Mtg Start Date

·       Order Date

·       Term Start Date

·       XBT Start Date

 

The Invoice Rule field displays on the Advertising Media Maintenance screen.

LINE_STATUS

Y

The status of the line item on the order.

 

The following codes are delivered with base Personify and cannot be changed:

·       Active (A)

·       Cancelled (C)

·       Proforma (P)

 

The Option 1 field determines whether or not FAR670 will recognize the order line. Enter "RevenueRecognition" in Option 1 if you want FAR670 to process the transaction. In the base application, only line status codes of "A" have "REVRECOGNITION" in the Option 1 column. This was executed for organizations that customize order entry to use different line status codes.

 

Option 3 identifies whether order lines with the line status defined by the code should be included in invoices.

 

The Line Status field is located on the Line Item Details screen.

MATERIAL_TYPE

N

The type of material that the print display is copied onto. For example, Disk, Film, or USB Key.

 

The Material Type field displays on the Ad Creative screen.

MEDIA_CLASS

N

A code that allows the organization to classify the media. For example, a sponsorship, a Web advertisement, or an advertisement in a journal.

 

The Media Class field is located on the Advertising Media Maintenance screen.

MEDIA_SECTION

N

A code that allows the organization to classify the media by section. For example, Classifieds for Rent, Classifieds for Sale, or Classifieds for Service.

MEDIA_TYPE

Y

The type of advertising media.

 

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Exhibition Based

·       Issue Based

·       Meeting Based

·       Product Based

·       Stand Alone

·       Term Based

·       Electronic

 

The Media Type field displays on the Advertising Media Maintenance screen.

NEW_REUSE

N

A code for new or reused. For example, New or Reused.

PAGE_ORIENTATION

N

The orientation of the advertisement in production. For example, Landscape or Portrait.

 

The Page Orientation field displays on the Ad Creative screen.

PAGE_POSITION

N

The position of the advertisement in production. For example, Bottom, Bottom Center, Top Right, etc.

PAY_FREQUENCY

Y

The time frame the customer must pay.

 

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Monthly

·       On Invoice

·       Quarterly

 

The Pay Frequency field displays on the Rates and Pricing screen.

PC_MAC

N

Select whether the print or internet display ad uses a PC or a MAC.

 

The PC or Mac field displays on the Ad Creative screen.

PCT_CALCULATION_METHOD

Y

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Only Percentage

·       Percentage and base price

PRODUCT_CATEGORY

N

The category of the advertising product. For example, Manufacturing, Sales Automation, Technology, etc.

PRODUCT_CLASS

N

The classification of the advertising product. For example, Directory, Journal, or Publication.

 

The Product Class field is located on the Advertising Product Maintenance screen.

PRODUCT_SUBCATEGORY

N

The sub-category of the advertising product.

PRODUCT_TYPE

Y

A system-defined code that identifies the type of ADV product.

 

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Benefit

·       Classified Ad

·       Color Web Media Surcharge

·       Insert

·       Misc Surcharge

·       Position Surcharge

·       Print Display Ad

·       Program Fee

·       Rebate

·       Sponsorship

·       Web Display Ad

·       Short Rate

 

The Product Type field is located on the Advertising Product Maintenance screen.

RATE

N

The rate code for the advertising contract or product. For example, 1 Time Ad, 2 Time Ad, or 3 Time Ad.

Advertising is sold based on how many ads the advertiser commits to; if the advertiser commits to running 12 ads, his/her rate is less than someone who only ran 1 ad. The price of the ad is determined by amount of ads ran; therefore, you need a numeric value to evaluate whether or not the advertisers met their commit. The Option 1 field is used to determine whether or not advertisers met their commitment. For example, if you enter 12 in this field for the Even code, the advertiser has to run at least 12 ads in order to meet his/her commitment.

 

The Rate Code field displays on the Rates and Pricing screen.

RATE_CARD_YEAR

N

The year the rate card is effective for the rate structure and code selected.

 

The Rate Card Year field is located on the Advertising Contracts screen.

REVENUE_RECOG_METHOD

Y

The codes defined for this system type control how revenue recognition for the order will be handled.

   

The following codes are delivered with base and cannot be changed:

·       Begin Date

·       On Invoice

·       On Specific Date

·       Monthly

 

The Recognition Method field is located on the GL Accounts screen in Product Maintenance.

SCHEDULE_TYPE

Y

The following code is delivered with base and cannot be changed:

  • Contract Rate Year

UNIT

N

The unit of measure used for the classified advertisement. For example, Inch, Line, or Word.

 

The Unit field is located on the Ad Creative screen.

WEB_DELIVERY_METHOD

N

The method of delivery of the advertisement over the web. For example, Even, Exclusive, or Weighted.
