User Defined Page URL Mask

URLs display in the web browser's address bar, and poor URL structure and design can result in negative user experiences.

As of 7.6.1, when you access the Search Engine Optimization settings on the Product Maintenance screen for a product, you will have the ability to define a value to populate the Page URL Mask for the URL of content management system pages. For more information, please see User Defined On-Page Factors.

This is not required.

If the value of the Page URL Mask field contains an invalid character, upon Save, it will be stripped out by the control.

In order to use this field on the SEO control, the use of Friendly URLs must be enabled and set up. For more information, please see Derived On-Page Factors.

Product Detail

If you define a value for the Page URL Mask of the product, when the page with the Product Detail .NET web control is loaded in a browser from the Product Listing or Promotional .NET web controls, then the defined value is included in the URL of the page.

If a value has not been defined for the Page URL Mask, when the page with the Product Detail control is loaded in a browser from the Product Listing or Promotional controls, the derived values defined in the PWF Parameter for the Product Detail control page will be included in the URL of the page.

If values have not been defined for both the Page URL Mask and PWF parameter for the Product Detail control page, when the page with the Product Detail control is loaded in a browser from the Product Listing or Promotional controls, the standard URL of the page in the content management system will be displayed.

Meeting Detail

If you define a value for the Page URL Mask of the product, when the page with the Meeting Detail .NET web control is loaded in a browser from the Meeting Calendar, Product Listing, Promotional, or Meeting Detail .NET web controls, then the defined value is included in the URL of the page.

If a value has not been defined for the Page URL Mask, when the page with the Meeting Detail control is loaded in a browser from the Meeting Calendar, Product Listing, Promotional, or Meeting Detail controls, then the derived values defined in the PWF Parameter for the Meeting Detail control page will be included in the URL of the page.

If values have not been defined for both the Page URL Mask and PWF parameter for the Meeting Detail control page, when the page with the Meeting Detail control is loaded in a browser from the Meeting Calendar, Product Listing, Promotional, or Meeting Detail controls, the standard URL of the page in the content management system will be displayed.
