The Create Product Review control gives you the ability to have users submit feedback on products by adding comments and rating with stars. During submission, the system states the reviewer's name, the name of the product, a star rating, and a review field. See Configuring the Web Settings for the Create Product Review Control for more information on how to drop this control onto a page on your e-Business website.
If this control is added to the product detail page and a web user(s) submit feedback on a product by adding comments and rating with stars, the product's star rating will display on the product listing page, as shown below.
As of 7.5.2, the Use Star Rating checkbox has been added to the control settings from the product detail and product listing controls, which determines whether or not to display the star ratings on the respective pages.
Product reviews can only be submitted for the following:
· Digital Content Delivery Products
Before customers can submit feedback and reviews, you will need to make sure you have set up these screens in back office to work with this control. For more information, please see Adding the Product Review and Product Options Screens.
If you are a host, you CANNOT create reviews.
The web user will be able to click the Write a Review link, which displays on the product detail page, as shown below. The control will display wherever you choose to place it within this page. We recommend placing it in the upper, right-hand corner of the page, below the social buttons.
After clicking the Write a Review link, if the web user is logged into your site, the following page displays. From this page, the web user can give the product a star rating, provide a title of his/her review, and then enter the review.
If the web user is not logged in, the following page displays.
