Adding or modifying universes requires BusinessObjects Designer. For information on using this application, please refer to the Designer’s Guide available on the Business Objects Web site.
As mentioned earlier, one reason you might want to modify a universe is to add Extender fields or tables to the universe. If the Extender fields already exist in a table that is in the universe schema, you simply need to add the fields to the universe. If you want to add a new table to the schema, the table needs to be selected and added to the universe schema, the new table needs to be joined to the appropriate table(s) in the universe, and then fields from the new table need to be added to the universe.
