Tribute Card Information Control

If a dedication has been made on an online donation, the donor may wish to let someone related to their tribute know that they have honored them with a gift. For instance, if the gift was made in memorial, the message may be directed to the family of the deceased.

The online donor will be given the option to provide contact information and a message to the person of their choice using the Tribute Card Information control. Therefore, if a value was entered in the "Dedicate to/for" field on the Gift Information step of the online donation wizard control, when the donor submits the donation and is taken to the Donation Thank You page, the Send Card with Dedication button displays, which will take the donor to the Tribute Card Information control.

The message defined in the Tribute Card Message control settings of the donation thank you control will display, along with a button (name of button if configured in Tribute Card Button Caption control settings). For more information, please see Configuring the Web Settings for the Donation Thank You Control. This message and button will only display the first time this thank you page opens; it will NOT display on subsequent visits to the thank you page (e.g., from Donation History).

The header and instructions that displays on this page is configured in the web settings of this control. For more information, please see Configuring the Web Settings for the Tribute Card Information Control.

The letter to be sent to the contact person identified by the donor to be notified of their donation is defined on the Letter Defaults screen in Gift Code Maintenance and is generated by the FND630 batch process with the Create Letter to Tribute Contact parameter set to "Y".

Customer Impact

When a donor submits the donation and is taken to the Donation Thank You page, the Send Card with Dedication button displays, which will take the donor to the Tribute Card Information control, as shown below.

When the web user submits the dedication, the system will attempt to validate the address. If the system is unable to identify the address as a valid address, a message will display, similar to what is down below, with more information about the missing information.
