Configuring the Web Settings for Predefined Filters

After you have configured your full product listing and navigation bar control, you can define the filter parameters on the Control Settings screen.

To configure predefined filters:

1.    Log into your e-Business site as host.

2.    Configure the predefined filters for the product listing by performing the following:

a.    It is recommended that you create a new page on your site as opposed to configuring predefined filter on your full product listing control. Add the "FullProductListControl" to the desired page. For more information, please see Adding a .NET Web Control to a Page.
The following Control Settings display for this control, as shown below.

b.    Enter the following filters (highlighted above), as appropriate:

·            Filter: Category Code(s): enter one or more category codes (comma separated) to filter the list of products displayed on the page by category.
For example, a set of MBR and MTG products with a category code of CAREER_STARTER can be listed together on a separate product listing page.

·            Filter: Exclude Primary Member Group: select whether or not products belonging to the organization's primary member group should be excluded from being displayed on the page.
For example, if your organization has a separate page for memberships that takes users through a join or renew workflow, you should select to exclude primary member group products.

·            Filter: Product Class Code(s) to Exclude: enter one or more product class codes (comma separated) to filter the list of products that should not be displayed on the page by product class.
For example, webinar meeting products can be shown on a different page than annual conference meetings based on their product class.

·            Filter: Product Class Code(s) to Include: enter one or more product class codes (comma separated) to filter the list of products that should be displayed on the page by product class.
For example, webinar meeting products can be shown on a different page than annual conference meetings based on their product class.

·            Filter: Product ID(s): enter one or more product IDs (comma separated) to filter the list of products displayed on the page by product.
For example, a set of products that cannot be selected by any other common data can be selected by using the product ID of each product.

·            Filter: Subsystem Code(s): enter one or more subsystem codes (comma separated) to filter the list of products displayed on the page by subsystem.
For example, digital and electronic content delivery products can be displayed on their own product listing page.

d.    Click Save.

3.    Configure the same predefined filters for the navigation bar by performing the following:

a.    Add the "NavigationBarControl" to the desired page. It is recommended that you drop the module into the left pane. For more information, please see Adding a .NET Web Control to a Page.
The following Control Settings display for this control, as shown below.

b.    As of 7.5.0, select whether or not you want to Exclude Primary Member Group products belonging to the organization's primary member group from being displayed on the page.
For example, if your organization has a separate page for memberships that takes users through a join or renew workflow, you should select to exclude primary member group products.

c.    Enter the following filters (highlighted above), as appropriate:

·            Filter: Category Code(s): enter one or more category codes (comma separated) to filter the list of products displayed on the page by category.

·            Filter: Product Class Code(s) to Exclude: enter one or more product class codes (comma separated) to filter the list of products that should not be displayed on the page by product class.
