Group Management

As Personify works to develop next generation e-business capabilities, one of the areas of importance is the ability for one constituent to manage the demographics, relationships, and transactions for other constituents that are part of a group. This is known as Group Management and it is composed of Corporate and Staff Management, Committee Management, and Chapter Management. The Group Management controls allow you to assign a manager to a roster from the back office and allows him/her to manage the roster online using these controls. This person is known as a "group manager". This feature is particularly useful for chapters, committees, or trade associations.

The permissions you assign to a group manager determine what customer record management functions he/she can perform on the web using the Group Management controls. For example, whether he/she can purchase products for the group, update group member's contact information, update the group's information, assign another user to be a manager, add new members, email the group, and perform other customer record management functions.

Depending on whether you set up a company, committee, or subgroup (chapter) for web segmentation (group management) determines how the group manager can manage the group. If you set up a company for web segmentation (group management), this workflow is known as Corporate and Staff Management. If you set up a committee for web segmentation (group management), this workflow is known as Committee Management. If you set up a subgroup for web segmentation (group management), this workflow is known as Chapter Management.

As of 7.5.1, on the web, segmentation is referred to as "Group Management”. In 7.5.0 it was referred to as "Corporate and Staff Management", and in releases prior to 7.5.0, it was referred to as "Affiliate Management".

If you set up a committee, company, or chapter (subgroup) for Group Management, you will use the following .NET controls:
