The third step in the online membership join process allows your organization to display special interest groups (SIGs) and is where you suggest donations to your constituents.
When configuring the membership join process, one page on your e-Business site should be created for the third step (make a bigger impact) with the Make a Bigger Impact Control dropped onto it. Please note that the Membership Contributions and Special Interests Groups controls are automatically included as part of the Make a Bigger Impact Control and no additional configuration is needed for those controls. They are only offered as separate controls in case you want to incorporate them into a customized process.
Before configuring this step of the membership join process, it is important that your back office configurations for special interest groups and donations are accurate. For more information, please see Configuring the Back Office Settings for the Make a Bigger Impact Step in the Membership Join Process.
After setting up the Make a Bigger Impact step, web users will see a page similar to the one displayed below.
On this step, the rate structure which will be shown on SIG and contribution will be either the best rate structure available or the default rate structure if the best rate structure is not available for the products. Additionally, as of 7.6.0, a prorate discount will be shown if the customer is eligible for rate structures other than List and that rate structure is available in product but is not the best rate structure. For example, if a customer is eligible for VIP, MEMBER, and LIST, but the special interest group has a MEMBER and LIST price, then the price for the special interest group will be LIST with a prorated discount.
