To successfully configure and verify the Personify/Lyris ListManager interface, you must have a working knowledge of the Lyris ListManager application.The Personify/Lyris interface is designed to function with the Lyris ListManager product. The integration between the two systems is a two-way communication. Personify serves as the data-mine and primary source for creating and updating Lyris email lists. Personify creates a master list of all Personify customers and passes it to Lyris ListManager. Subsequently, you can update the master list and create Lyris mailing lists from it.
If you update a Primary Email Address or Name in Personify, it updates the information in Lyris based on the Master Customer ID. The Master Customer ID is only used to pass information back and forth between Personify and Lyris and is not stored as a part of the master list in Lyris. Similarly, when a record is deleted from a list, the record will be deleted from the Lyris database as well.
The implementation of the Personify/Lyris integration supports “database segmentation” in Lyris as a means to be more cost-effective. Rather than storing a new record in Lyris each time a member’s name is used in a mailing list, a master list of all customers is created in Lyris, from which sublists, or “segments,” are used to send email blasts to particular groups of customers.
