Defining the List Mapping Template

Certain values in a source data file may not map directly to a column in the MKT_Prospect table. A List Mapping template defines the calculation logic you want to create between the source data file and the MKT_Prospect table. This way, when you upload your Marketing source data file to Personify360, all values link up to the MKT_Prospect table.

Mapping templates are only used to map values imported from an external file to the Personify360 application. If you are not creating a list based on a file import, you can proceed to the next section, Creating a New Marketing List.

Within your list mapping template, you need to create mapping functions with user-defined mappings, each of which maps a specific input field to a corresponding database table. The same thing occurs with value ranges that should map to specific coded values.

For example, if the system uses “Home” for an address type, but the address type in the input file is “Residence,” then a mapping changes one to the other. Also, if a prospect company’s staff size is reported in actual numbers and the system stores this as a set of codes for staff size, this can be mapped and translated as part of the upload.

Once defined, these mapping functions can be used across multiple input lists.

Purchased lists may come in fixed record length or character-delimited files. These files may consist of lists of companies or individuals. It is possible to create records in Personify360 for one or both record types. For example, if an address is passed in with an individual and a company name, the system can create both an individual and a company record if the address is the same.

These are the minimal columns required for the MKT001 screen to save the new template.

·            Any name field

·            Address 1

·            Address Status

·            Address type

After you analyze your marketing list for upload, you can then create a new list mapping template.
